SummerBash '18

Another year of SummerBash is in the books! We just finished hosting a mission team led by a good friend and pastor on our leadership council. The camp was organized specifically to minister in a certain village where we had one of our first ministries (back in 2013). Back then, we called it 'Kidz Camp' and it was essentially SummerBash every Saturday for 50-75 kids. We've since handed over that program to a pastor friend of ours who has faithfully continued and grown the ministry. So this year we decided to especially include them into our SummerBash events.

In early July we hosted a team of women to help us run a camp focused on the teenage girls in our village. Heartbreakingly, Grenada has very high statistics regarding child abuse and many of the youth in our village have been victimized. Not only did the camp offer us the opportunity to minister to the young women but it also provided them a safe place to be during those days. That's why we organized it to be a mix of fun and laughter (making crafts, painting nails, dancing, and playing games) as well as talking to them candidly about the issues they're dealing with. We initially expected only a few girls would be interested but it turned out to be our most popular camp ever.
