Ultimately, what you pack is determined by the type and length of your trip.
Most teams come for about a week and help us with camps and youth ministry.

Pack clothes that allow you to be active outdoors, play with kids and move freely.

However, not all American fashion is appropriate in Grenada.

The parameters below will help you determine what to pack and not pack.

Don't Forget to bring...

  • Passport

  • Bible & Notebook / Journal

  • Personal Toiletries & Towel

  • Sheets and pillow (for twin mattress)

  • Sunscreen & Bug Spray

  • Water Bottle

  • Hat & Sunglasses

  • Comfortable Shoes

Leave At Home!!

  • Laptops

  • Handheld game systems

  • Fancy or expensive jewelry and watches

  • Any kind of weapon

  • Anything sharp or sharpened that can be seen as a weapon; including pocket knives

  • Anything you would hate to lose

Ladies

Daily Wear

Feel free to pack pants, jeans, capris, skirts and shorts. Please make sure skirts and shorts are no higher than two inches above your knee. Leggings or spandex may be worn under a dress or skirt but not alone as pants. Pack plenty of tops such as t-shirts, sport shirts, sleeveless tops, tunics or tank tops-- as long as they cover your whole torso and aren't crop top.

**In the evening and after it rains, the bugs are extra hungry! Bring at least one pair of long pants to protect your legs from bites.

SUnday Morning

You'll need a nice outfit for church or if we minister where we need to wear more than just shorts and t-shirts. This should be a dress or long skirt that falls below the knee, or dress pants. Leggings or spandex may be worn under a dress or skirt but not alone as pants. Your top or blouse should not have spaghetti straps, be a crop top or be skin-tight, show cleavage or be thin enough to see through.

Swimwear

Pack a "full coverage" bathing suit that covers your backside, hips, mid-drift, torso and cleavage. Many young ladies have created their own swimwear by wearing sport shorts over their suit or wearing a sports bra under a spandex or Lycra sports shirt.

DO NOT BRING!!

Do not pack any bikinis, mini-skirts, short-shorts, yoga pants, spaghetti straps, crop tops or clothing that is skin-tight, shows cleavage or thin enough to see through. Also please leave at home any clothing that has words across the butt or suggestive sayings or images.

Guys

Daily Wear

Feel free to pack pants, jeans and shorts (but not spandex). Pack plenty of t-shirts, sport shirts or tank tops-- as long as they cover your whole torso and aren't crop top or mesh.

**In the evening and after it rains, the bugs are extra hungry! Bring at least one pair of pants to protect your legs from bites.

SUnday Morning

You'll need a nice outfit for church or if we minister where we need to wear more than just shorts and t-shirts. This should be a collared shirt, long pants (no jeans or cargo shorts) and shoes. If you have a nice pair of sandals that is also okay BUT NOT flip-flops.

DO NOT BRING!!

Do not pack any clothing with camo (it's actually illegal) or anything possibly offensive... such as suggestive or party references, political statements, 'in-your-face' sayings or the confederate flag.

Other Stuff

SummerBash Booklet

Most mission teams come to help us out with SummerBash. During July and August we gather the kids in the village, play games, share stories, show them love and teach them about the gospel.

It's easy to think that having a good heart and a passion for Jesus is all that matters on a mission trip. However, there are certain factors and logistical realities that make visiting Grenada harder for some people than others. This booklet is designed to prepare you for what to expect— as well as help you plan accordingly. Read the booklet here.
